Cato the Younger
Tarot glossary
Cato the Younger was a Roman statesman remembered for austere republican virtue. He took his own life rather than submit to Julius Caesar. Brera connects him with CATONE and uses that biography to reconstruct trump XIII as Death. The identification gives the number a plausible role. The severed head and pale object remain incompletely explained.
