Ace
Tarot glossary · also one
The ace is card one of its suit, and the only numbered card that shows a single suit sign. In the Rider–Waite–Smith deck a hand reaches out of a cloud to offer it; in the Tarot de Marseille the Cup and Coin aces are simply one large emblem. Readers take an ace as the seed of its suit: a first spark of drive, feeling, thought or material change, still unformed. A common confusion is to read an ace as a finished result, when most guides treat it as a beginning or an offer that still has to be taken up.
